Here is a list of all the topics we cover in Chemistry 111. These topics are the same for every CHEM 111 course at C of C.
My CHEM 111 class is part of our Chemistry-Biology Learning Community, which is part of the College of Charleston’s First Year Experience program. Students in this learning community take CHEM 111 and BIOL 111 together as a group; they also learn more about how to make the most of their time at C of C and get involved in things that are important parts of successful applications to health profession programs including medical school and dental school. These things include:
- An overview of the major and minors available in biochemistry, chemistry, and biology
- Tours of the undergraduate research labs at C of C
- The application process for health profession programs
- Advice and Information from our former students who are now in health profession programs, including the MUSC medical school program
